42. EOC Seminar and IOC Regional Forum

Representatives of the BiH Olympic Committee, president prof. dr. Milanko Mučibabić and General Secretary dr. sci.  Said Fazlagić in recent days, participated in the 42nd Seminar of the European Olympic Committees, after which the Regional Forum of the International Olympic Committee was held, focusing on the preparations of the Olympic Committees for the upcoming XXXIII Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The events were organized with the aim of informing the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) about the current course of organization of the European and World competitions that await us in the coming year organized by the EOC and the IOC, as well as the world's largest sports exhibition, the Olympic Games in Paris, The Olympic Games in Paris, from which we are less than two years away.

This was also an opportunity to get to know many important project information, but also to hold a series of thematic meetings with the leaders of the IOC, EOC, ANOC and IOC Olympic Solidarity. President of OC BiH prof. Dr. Milanko Mučibabić met with the president of EOC, Mr. Spirosom Capralos emphasized "the importance of the engagement of sports organizations of the Olympic movement, among which is the OCBiH, whose actions contribute to the development and improvement of not only sports systems, but also society in general".

In the coming year, OC BiH expects four competitions: the winter EYOF Friuli Venezia Giulia, the European Games Krakow Malopolska, the summer EYOF Maribor and the Mediterranean Beach Games Heraklion. Reports on the progress of the projects were presented, after which an open discussion was held on these topics.

During the Seminar, the report of the recently completed EYOF Banska Bistrica 2022 competition was discussed. The reports of the EOC commissions were presented, namely; the EYOF Commission, Marketing Commission, Athletes Commission, and EU Commission as well as the report of the working group for the development of the EOC 2030 Development Strategy.

Gunilla Lindberg - General Secretary of ANOC presented a report on the development of ANOC's Development Strategy. She also presented a report on the progress of the implementation of the ANOC Beach Games - Bali 2023 project.

The Deputy Director of Olympic Solidarity of the IOC Pamela Vipond informed those present about the current projects of the Olympic Solidarity of the IOC as well as the opportunities for NOCs through the implementation of these projects. In this regard, in addition to participating in multi-sport competitions, OC BiH will focus useful information and knowledge in the future on the implementation of a series of Olympic Solidarity projects of the IOC, and they are directed toward athletes, the sports system and the promotion of Olympic values, socially responsible

 As part of the seminar, the Piotr Nurowski award for the best young athlete in Europe was awarded. Five athletes were shortlisted. The prize was won by the high jumper Angelina Topić from Serbia.

This year's host of the EOC Seminar and the IOC Regional Forum was Greece, and the events were symbolically held in ancient Olympia.
