Handball national team qualified for EURO 2022!
The handball national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina qualified for the European Championship for the second time in history. Our national team members also participated in the last European Championship in 2020, which was held in Austria, Norway and Sweden.
Our handball players lost to Austria today in Graz with the result 27:23. However, they managed to qualify for EURO 2022 Championship. Euro 2022 will be held in Hungary and Slovakia in January next year.
In the match in Graz, the home team had to win in order to qualify for the European Championship and it managed to achieve that. Austria led from the beginning to the end of the match and recorded a victory that took second place in the group. In the first half, the Austrians had a constant between three and four goal advantage, and they had no problem keeping it in the continuation of the match. Our selection achieved victories in the qualifications against Estonia (21:19) and Austria (27:21), while it was defeated by Germany twice (25:21 and 26:24), and once by Estonia (24:21) and Austria today (27:23).
This is the second time in history that the national handball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina has qualified for the European Championship. Our national team members also participated in the last European Championship in 2020, which was held in Austria, Norway and Sweden.
The upcoming European Championship will be held from January 13 to 30, 2022 in Hungary and Slovakia, and 24 teams will compete in it.
