INTRODUCING BIH TEAM “YOG GANGWON 2024”

The BIH Team YOG Gangwon 2024 was presented in the premises of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina. From January 19 to February 1, 2024, the Team will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the fourth Winter Youth Olympic Games "YOG Gangwon 2024", in which are participating young athletes from all over the world, aged up to 18 years.

The competitive part of the team consists of 6 athletes who will perform in biathlon, cross-country skiing and alpine skiing:

  • Srđan Lalović, biathlon
  • Boris Stanojević, biathlon and cross country
  • Teodora Delipara, cross country
  • Melika Jažić, cross country
  • Ina Likić, alpine skiing
  • Noah Miljković, alpine skiing

The official opening ceremony will be held on January 19, starting at 8:00 p.m. local time, or at 12:00 p.m. The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the opening ceremony will be carried by Ina Likić and Boris Stanojević.

Bh. the team was greeted by the leaders of OK BiH, president acad. prof. PhD Izet Rađo, vice-presidents Marijan Kvesić and prof. Milanko Mučibabić, Ph.D., and Secretary General Assoc. Dr. Said Fazlagić,  wished good luck and good results to our Team. The President of OK BiH emphasized that the YOG is a kind of turning point and an excellent introduction for juniors on the way to the Winter Olympic Games. He also reminded those present that the BiH Olympic Committee is leading a campaign for the candidacy of hosting the future winter editions of the Youth Olympic Games, which will return the Olympic Flame to Bosnia and Herzegovina for the third time.

As many as 1,900 young athletes from around the world will compete in 15 sports on the program of the Games: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, nordic combined, ski jumping, snowboarding, luge, biathlon, bobsleigh, skeleton, ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, short track speed skating and curling.

South Korea's Gangwon region "Pyeong Chang", hosted the Winter Olympics in 2018, and this year's competition is the first Winter YOG to be held in Asia using facilities and arenas that are a legacy of the Winter Olympics.

The Team will be accompanied at the Games by coaches Bojan Minic (biathlon), Stefan Anic (cross-country skiing), Senad Kazazovic (alpine skiing), and head of mission Lana Grgić.
