The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina already traditionally organizes the Sportsman of the Year event, and this year the selection will be made in 9 categories, namely:

1. The best young athlete in the junior category;

2. The best young athlete in the junior category;

3. The most successful Sports Club;

4. The most successful national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

5. The most successful coach;

6. Special awards of OK BiH:

a) For the promotion of sports and Olympic values

b) Sports worker, for long-term contribution to the development of sports

c) Sports promoters of Bosnia and Herzegovina

d) Athlete or team from the family of non-Olympic sports

e) Special award for an outstanding sports result

f) Award for support in the work of OK BiH

g) Award for media promotion of Olympic values

h) For successful long-term coaching work

i) Sports ambassador

7. The best female athlete in the senior competition;

8. The best athlete in the senior competition;

9. Sportsman of the year.

The right to participate in the "Selection" has the right to all BiH sportsmen, coaches and teams belonging to the selection categories.

In accordance with the criteria and the Rulebook on the selection of athlete of the year organized by the BiH Olympic Committee, candidate proposals can be submitted exclusively through the parent sports federation of BiH. All proposals for nominations by category should be submitted on the federation's letterhead, with the federation's seal and the signature of the responsible person of the federation, who with their signature and seal guarantee the credibility of the data (otherwise the proposals will not be considered), to the address of the Olympic Committee of BiH (Alipašina bb, Zetra, Sarajevo, BiH) no later than November 20, 2023. years.

The conditions for applying are defined in Article 5 of the Rulebook on the selection of the Athlete of the Year organized by the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and reads as follows:

Article 5.

The conditions that must be met by the applicant for basic categories (except for special ones) in order for the professional association application to be accepted are:

a) that he is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

b) that he is a member of a sports club from Bosnia and Herzegovina that is registered with the competent authority and that the club is a member of a professional association. (One sport can have only one professional association) or

c) that he is a member of a sports club from other countries, provided that the professional sports association from Bosnia and Herzegovina has given them permission to perform for the same;

d) that he is not under suspension for doping;

e) that the Application is accompanied by a Bulletin or Competition Report certified by the President or General Secretary of the professional sports association of which he is a member;

f) that the application is filled out on a unique form prepared by the Commission, which will be submitted as an attachment to the tender;

g) that it is an Olympic sport (except for part of the Special Awards);

h) professional associations can nominate one sportsman and one sportswoman in one category with the two best results or placements for the specified year.
