17th International Triathlon Cup "Kulin ban"

Triathlon Association in BiH in cooperation and under the auspices of the Olympic Committee of BiH in the period from 28.08.-30.08.2020 organized the 17th International Triathlon Cup "Kulin ban" Boračko Lake 2020, located in the heart of the mountain Prenj near Konjic.

The main race was held on Saturday 29.08.2020. starting at 15:00, which was attended by about 100 competitors from BiH and the region.

Competitors competed in sprint distance - swimming (750 meters), running (5,000 meters) and cycling (20 km), non-stop. All competitors participated in the absolute category, and apart from that, the participants were also classified according to age.

When it comes to the international competitros within the absolute category for men, first place took Ognjen Stojanović who comes from Serbia, and immediately behind him were Andrej Vištica from Croatia (2nd place) and Vladimir Danko from Serbia (3rd place). When it comes to competitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the best was Belmin Godinjak, then Fatih Tahirović and Vladimir Trbić.

In the absolute category for women, (international group of competitors), the victory was taken by Lana Gavrilović from Serbia, followed by Neira Odobašić from BiH and Nikolina Kopanja, who also comes from BiH. Neira Odobašić from BiH won first place in the category of competitors from BiH, Nikolina Kopanja the second and Tijana Salčinović was on the third place.

Swimming took place in one of the most beautiful natural lakes in BiH, and the bike path led through a beautiful area that is primarily known for the untamed cliffs of the mountains Visočica, Bjelašnica and Prenj. The running trail followed the shore of the lake and eventually ended by passing through an orchard of plums and apples. The change zone was close to the swimming starting point and the finish line.

Interest in this year's triathlon cup was higher, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of competitors was limited to one hundred.

In addition to the above, the organizers had a demanding task to ensure conditions for compliance with prescribed and recommended hygienic and epidemiological measures, so the Eco Village Boračko Lake, as the host of the competition,was provided with the necessary space for the physical distance, and sufficient masks as well as protective disinfections.
