Amel Tuka: The BIH Olympic Committee is my second home

President of the Athletics Federation of BiH prof. Dr. Goran Bošnjak, Vice President Đurđica Šišul, and Amel Tuka, vice-world champion in athletics at 800 meters visited the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they were welcomed by the President of the Olympic Committee of BiH Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo and Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of BiH Said Fazlagić.

The President of the Olympic Committee of BiH presented Amel with an award for the achieved result at the World Championships in Doha in the amount of 15,000.00 KM and once again congratulated on the success on behalf of the Presidency of OC BiH, the Executive Committee of OC BiH and the entire Olympic family.

Amel Tuka pointed out the following:  "The Olympic Committee of BiH is my second home. On behalf of all the Olympians, I can say that the support of OC BiH means a lot to us in our efforts to realize our dreams, achieve top results and promote the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

President of the Athletics Federation of BiH prof. Dr. Goran Bošnjak expressed gratitude for the excellent cooperation between the Olympic Committee of BiH and the Athletic Federation of BiH as well as the attention that the Olympic Committee of BiH pays to athletics and our best athletes, who are led by Amel Tuka.

The leaders of the BiH Olympic Committee pointed out that the BiH Olympic Committee, as a non-budget user who is not responsible for funding athletes, will specifically and financially support our best athletes with the aim to better prepare and achieve the necessary norm for the participation in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Within the three-year project "On the way to the Tokyo Olympics", the BiH Olympic Committee provides scholarships to fourteen of the best BiH athletes, three of whom have already qualified (Amel Tuka, Larisa Cerić and Mesud Pezer) and received additional support from the BiH Olympic Committee for better preparation and performance at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
