We are less than 24 hours away from the opening of the XXIV WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES BEIJING 2022

The opening ceremony of the XXIV Winter Olympic Games will begin on Friday, February 4, 2022, starting at 20:00 in Beijing, and our time at 13:00. Beijing will go down in history as the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics, which will be official after the opening ceremony on Friday night.

Fourteen years after Beijing delighted the world with unforgettable opening and closing ceremonies during the 2008 Summer Games, the cult venue in the Chinese capital will light up again on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, present due to the COVID-19 protocol, there is no doubt that this opening ceremony will be an unforgettable event to be held at the National Bird's Nest Stadium once again 14 years after the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Renowned Chinese film director Zhang Yimou, who also directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Summer Games, will also direct tomorrow’s Opening Ceremony. In addition to the traditional greetings, the parade of delegations, the cultural program that shows the rich Chinese heritage will consist of as many as 3,000 performers.

The central part of the event - the traditional parade of delegations participating in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics - will be opened by representatives of the Greek Delegation, followed by a parade of 91 delegations according to the alphabet of the host country. Bosnia and Herzegovina will go to the National Stadium in Beijing as the 50th delegation in a row, and the last in a row will be the delegation of the host of the Games - the Chinese Olympic Team.

This year, for the first time in the history of the Winter Olympics, each delegation will have the opportunity to carry the flag of the country with two athletes - one female and one male representative of the Olympic team.

As of the next day, almost 2,900 athletes from 91 countries will compete to win one of the 109 greatest sports medals - gold medals in seven winter sports.
