Become a volunteer at the European Games Kraków-Małopolska 2023!

Registration of volunteers for the Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games is underway.

On Tuesday, October 11, the Organizing Committee began the process of applying for volunteers who will play an important role in coordinating the premier multi-sport event in Europe next year.

The Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games are just around the corner, and the Opening Ceremony is only eight months away. The volunteer program is the best way to become part of the biggest sporting event ever held in Poland.

"I got to know the volunteers as an athlete, then as a coach, and finally to work with them as the head of mission of the Polish team," said the president of the Organizing Committee of the European Games 2023, Marcin Nowak.

"So I am fully aware that their role cannot be taken for granted. We put a lot of emphasis on this project. At the end of the day, we care about everyone who comes to Krakow, we want them to feel good and we will do everything we can to solve any problem that may arise along the way.”

"Volunteers will be needed every step of the way during the Games - even before the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. They will help us stay in touch with fans and athletes from all over Europe. They will help reporters, referees and coaches. Working during the Games will give them the opportunity to meet different people and make valuable friendships.”

Inclusive environment

Who are the organizers looking for? The main requirement is age: volunteers must be sixteen or older by the time the Games begin in June, and there is no such thing as "too old". Volunteers can be students, workers or even senior citizens. Fluency in English is essential and volunteers must be available for at least eight days between December and April 2023.

We are looking for people who are active, willing to help, open-minded, and have a passion for the Olympic Movement. No previous volunteer experience is required; volunteers will learn everything along the way. Working with us is a great opportunity to observe and participate in all the behind-the-scenes events of one of the world's biggest sporting events. "I assure you, this is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure," Nowak said.

Starter package and insurance

Each volunteer will receive a starter pack that includes clothing and equipment. The organizing committee will provide food at work, free public transport, NNW insurance, necessary training, and certification. Accommodation will be provided for anyone outside the Malopolska region.

To become a volunteer, applicants must successfully complete a two-step process. The first step will require you to register on the volunteer website and fill out a form. The link is available here: https://ie2023.pl/wolontariat

The second stage is an online interview for selected candidates. The registration form will be available until January 15, 2023, and interviews will take place from December 2022 to April 2023.

Thirteen incredible days of sporting memories

The event will take place from June 21 to July 2, 2023. Kraków and Śląsk are the official hosts of the Games. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the City Stadium in Krakow. Twelve days of action at the European Games will provide sporting competition of the highest standard. Athletes will compete in Krakow, Krynica Zdrój, Tarnów, Zakopane, Chorzów, and Wrocław
