Bronze medal for boxer Tara Bohatjuk
Young Bosnian boxer Tara Bohatjuk won a bronze medal at the European Junior Amateur Boxing Championship, which was held this year in Budva (Montenegro). This is only the second European medal for BiH in boxing
Tara Bohatjuk, who is a member of the Boxing Club "Novi Grad" (Sarajevo) and the National Team of BiH, won the European Championship against the champion of Spain, and by winning that match, she secured a bronze medal. On Saturday, she had a match before entering the finals, which she unfortunately lost to the domestic boxer Bojana Gojković, the current European champion. Our Tara had to be satisfied with a bronze medal, which in itself is a huge success for this young BiH boxer and for BiH sports in general.
Tara said she was very pleased with her performance at the European Championships:
"I WANT TO THANK MY CLUB "NOVI GRAD" WHO SUPPORTED AND FOLLOWED ME IN EVERY STEP AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP AS WELL AS THE BOXING FEDERATION OF BIH. WITHOUT THEM ALL THIS WOULD NOT EVEN BE IMAGINABLE. I ACHIEVED A VICTORY AGAINST THE SPANISH CHAMPION AND I AM SATISFIED WITH MY PERFORMANCE. I ALSO WANT TO THANK MY COACHES JASMIN PEŠTEK AND REDŽEP HALILOVIĆ BECAUSE THEY GAVE ME THIS OPPORTUNITY. NOTHING WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE LOVE GIVEN TO ME AND WITHOUT TRUST IN MY COACHES. I CAME FOR VICTORY, AWARE THAT IT IS THE HARDEST THING TO TAKE FROM SOMEONE WHAT HE CLAIMS IS ALREADY HIS."
The boxing club "Novi Grad" states that this is the first European medal for the club and at the same time only the second for BiH. They are satisfied with the fact that after 15 years of work and participation in 10 European Championships, they managed to win a medal of this rank, which is proof of perseverance and the quality and continuity of work in the club.
