GREAT PERFORMANCES BIH WINTER SPORTS COMPETITORS

Our National Team members in winter sports (skiing, skating and luge) had performances all over the Europe this weekend and recorded great results

Our alpinists had great results in their performances this weekend. The FIS CUP Jahorina 2021 in the slalom discipline was held on the Olympic mountain Jahorina. The most successful was our alpinist Emir Lokmić, who won a gold medal twice. Our second national team member Marko Šljivić won 2nd place on the second day. In the women's competition, our Maja Tadić won 2nd place on the first day, while on the second day our young skier Nikolina Dragoljević took 2nd place.

Elvedina Muzaferija competed in Crans Montana in the downhill race and took 35th place, less than 3 seconds behind the winner, which is a very good result for our skier.

At the 8th race of the Toboggan World Cup, which was run in Innsbruck (GER), our representative Mirza Nikolajev also competed in the superfinals. In the superfinal, 32 of the best pilots in the world took part, among whom Mirza took 27th place and won 14 new points. In the overall standings, Mirza currently ranks 34th with 64 points, out of a total of 58 competitors from 24 countries. You can watch Mirza's performance in the video below.

The senior representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina in speed skating, Edin Branković and Tarik Omeragić, competed from the 22nd to the 24th of this month at the European Championships in Gdańsk (Poland), in the disciplines of 500m, 1000m and 1500m. In the competition of the 45 best speed skaters in Europe, our national team had a solid performance. Edin Branković entered the semifinals in the 1500m and took 16th place, which is a great result. In the 1000 m, Tariq took 41st place with a time of 1:31.578, but in this discipline he also improved his personal record by 3 seconds. In the overall ranking at this European Championship, Edin is placed 35th, and Tarik in 38th place.
