HC "Borac" became the champion of Europe on this day 48 years ago

On this day, 48 years ago, the "Borac" handball club achieved one of the most significant successes in the history of Bosnian sports by winning the title of European champion.

The handball players from Banja Luka defeated Fredericia from Denmark in the final with a score of 17:15. They eliminated Czechoslovak Červena hviezda, Spanish Kalpis and in the semi-finals the powerful Gumersbach from Germany.

The golden generation of handball players, which brought joy to the fans, was led from the bench by coach Pero Janjić, and the "Borca" jersey was worn by: Milorad Karalić, Zdravko Rađenović, Nedeljko Vujinović, Abas Arslanagić, Dobrivoje Selec, Momir Golić, Borislav Golić, Nebojša Popović, Miro Bjelić, Rade Unčanin, Slobodan Vukša and Zoran Ravlić
