"Nezavisne novine" and Radio-television BiH |Selection of the best athlete of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The expert jury of the 22nd Jubilee Contest of the Best Sportsman of BiH, a manifestation traditionally organized by "Nezavisne Novine" and Radio-Television BiH at its session in Banja Luka, today shortened the lists of nominees in all categories. In the closest competition for the best female athlete are swimmer Lana Pudar, cyclist Lejla Njemčević and volleyball player Dajana Bošković.

"Nezavisne novine" and Radio Television BiH have been organizing the BiH Best Athlete Contest for the 22nd year in a row, the most relevant manifestation of this kind in BiH, whose partner is the BiH Olympic Committee. Strong support is also provided by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The jury analyzed and reduced the list in the category for the best team, and in the closest competition are the BiH Women's Volleyball National Team, the Croatian Sports Club Zrinjski and the BiH Men's Basketball National Team.

The laureate award for the best coach will be Stevan Ljubičić (volleyball), Goran Grahovac (swimming) or Sergej Jakirović (football).

Candidates for the most promising sportswoman of BiH are Jana Đerić (kickboxing), Emina Sipović (karate), Dragana Matić (cycling), Marija Jokić (taekwondo), Emina Omanović (athletics), Tea Kovačević (tennis), Merjema Kišić (volleyball).

Luka Pejić (karate), Anes Ćehajić (cycling), Emel Ljubuškić (cycling), Stefan Maksimović (handball) and Hamza Muharemović (athletics) are competing for the most promising athlete.

Awards will be given in a total of 12 categories, and in addition to the ones mentioned, there are also awards for life's work, an award for sports development, an award for fair play - sports role model, the best athlete for people with disabilities, the best team in sports for people with disabilities and the Readers' Award.

The festive event will be held on December 23 at the "Holiday" hotel in Sarajevo starting at 8 p.m., with live broadcast on BHT1 and www.nezavisne.com.
