NOC of bosnia and Herzegovina hosted senior officials of the Organizing Committee of the '84 Winter Olympics at the Olympic Museum in Sarajevo. The delegation of the organizers of the Winter Olympics 1984 was led by Ahmed Karabegović, Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the XIV Winter Olympics '84.

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina invited senior officials of the Organizing Committee of the '84 Winter Olympics to visit the newly built Olympic Museum to pay their respects to all those who contributed to the organization of the XIV Winter Olympic Games in 1984. The delegation of the Winter Olympics '84 leaders was led by Ahmed Karabegovic , Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the XIV WOG '84.

An Organizing Committee with 79 members was formed in 2006, headed by President Branko Mikulić and Secretary General Ahmed Karabegović. They had a big task ahead of them, the organization of the first Winter Olympic Games in a socialist state, and the promotion of Olympic values and ideals of unity. The participation of 49 national teams was ensured, with almost 1,300 athletes in 39 disciplines, and 222 medals were awarded. A record number of participants, athletes and their companions arrived in Sarajevo (more than 2,500). Just before the beginning of the 14th Winter Olympics '84, 7,283 media representatives from all over the world came to Sarajevo to report on their progress. In 1984, Sarajevo was the center of the world and the whole city lived in the Olympic spirit.

Inheriting the Olympic Legacy as part of the cultural heritage of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina certainly means paying tribute to the people without whose leadership and dedication the Sarajevo Olympics would not have been declared the best organized Winter Olympics, according to then-International Olympic Committee President Juan Antonio Samaranch.

Respecting the greats of our Olympic history in the renovated building of the Olympic Museum in Sarajevo, the BiH Olympic Committee sends a message to young generations that the richness of our Olympic past should serve as an incentive and guide to a better future for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
