NOC BiH supported the celebration of Women’s Golf Day in Sarajevo

Every year around the world on the idea of ​​Women’s Golf Day around the world the golf courses are dedicated only to ladies. With a great organization in Sarajevo on the golf course "VF" golfers hosted future golfers, to show all the beauty of this sport, but also experienced golf ladies who played their tournament.

The guests were also addressed by the President of the Olympic Committee of BiH, Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo as well as the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of BiH, Ph.D. Said Fazlagić, who emphasized the importance of involving women in sports, but also the excellent cooperation between the Olympic Committee of BiH and the Golf Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will continue with concrete activities and support to the Golf Association of BiH and athletes.

9 ladies all from Golf club „Sarajevo“ participated in the official tournament. They played 18 holes and the best were: Anita Selmanagić, Edina Sudžuka and Alma Mekić - Tataragić.

Dženana Šaran, Arjana Selmanagić and Minka Baroš are the best on the net. Mirjana Mirković, Tatjana Rajačić and Alma Ahmić, other participants in this tournament, also received awards from Golf club „Sarajevo“  and the sponsor of this event.

At the same time as the members of Golf club „Sarajevo“ were playing the tournament, Dejan Šaran, a golf teacher, explained to the guests the first steps of this game and why golf is a game of honesty, respect and solidarity.

At the joint dinner of all ladies with the management of Golf club „Sarajevo“, the participants of this event were addressed by the members of the Board of Golf club „Sarajevo“, President Sead Balić, Edina Sudžuka and Dejan Šaran, who jointly emphasized the importance of including ladies in this sport.

Considering that this year the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of the organization of events to mark the European Sports Week 2020, organizes the same with the Golf Federation of BiH, and the fact that the European Union has placed special emphasis on increasing women's participation in physical activities and sports, Women's Golf Day is a great start to the month of September, which marks the European Sports Week.
