OC BIH VISITS THE MINISTER OF CULTURE AND SPORTS OF THE CANTON OF SARAJEVO

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues with activities to solve the problem of systemic financing of top sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the recently held Round Table in the premises of the OC BiH, nine conclusions were made that deal with this topic, and the vice president of the OC BiH, dr. sci Izet Rađo and Secretary General of the OC BiH doc. dr Said Fazlagić met Minister Samir Avdić on this topic.

The Vice-President of the OC BiH asked the Minister, as a former top athlete who had multiple roles in sports teams and the organization of multi-sport competitions, to do everything to ensure that these nine conclusions are fully supported and that 1% is set aside for sports at all levels of administrative organization, while why would top athletes, national teams, the Olympic and Paralympic Committee of BiH be financed from the state level.

The Minister is also familiar with the idea of friendly Olympic committees from the region that would continue the Olympic dream of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is the organization of another major multi-sport competition, the Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

For the umpteenth time, Minister Avdić showed empathy and determination to finally solve the financing of top sports in BiH in a systemic way, and he assessed the idea of organizing the YOG as very interesting and possible.
