OLYMPIC VENUES | YANQING ZONE

Yanqing  Zone

Located 75 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing, Yanqing is a mountainous suburb of the Chinese capital full of hot springs, national parks, ski resorts and the Badaling part of the Great Wall of China. Olympic venues in Yanqing will organize alpine skiing, as well as competitions in sledding sports: bobsled, skeleton, and sledding.

National Sliding Centre

Events / competitions: bobsleigh, skeleton, sledding

The National Toboggan Center in Yanqing is the first toboggan run in China and only the third in Asia. The center offers a capacity of 2,000 seats, as well as another 8,000 standing places.

After the end of the Winter Olympic Games, the center will be used for holding international competitions, as well as a place for training the Chinese national team.

National Alpine Ski Centre

Events/competitions: alpine skiing

Located in the Xiaohaituo Mountain Area in northwest Yanqing, the National Alpine Ski Center consists of seven trails, with the largest vertical drop reaching 900 meters.

The sports arena will continue to be used for international competitions and the training of athletes after the Winter Olympics and has a capacity of 5,000 seats and 3,500 standing places for spectators.
