PARTICIPATION OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE OC BIH AT THE ANOC GENERAL ASSEMBLY SEOUL 2022

The General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees was held in Seoul on 19.10. and 20.10.2022, with the addition of special sessions on 21.10.2022.

The assembly was opened by the president of the IOC, dr. Thomas Bach then addressed the participants. During the brotherhood, President Bach reviewed the current, global situation and the challenges faced by the Olympic movement in the given context, stressing that all participants of the Olympic movement should remain united on the Olympic path and that the IOC will continue to provide program support to national Olympic committees.

After Dr. Bach's address, there was a report by Acting ANOC President Robin Mitchell and ANOK General Secretary Gunilla Lindberg.

During the session, elections were held for the president and first vice president of ANOC for the next four years. The current acting president of ANOC, Robin Mitchell, was elected president, while the president of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Joan bin Hamad, was elected first vice president.

The assembly was held in a hybrid format and the representatives of OC BiH prof. dr. Milanko Mučibabić, President of the OC BiH and dr. sci Said Fazlagić, Secretary General of the OC BiH participated via an online platform on the premises of the OC BiH. Due to the time difference, the session started at 2 am local time in BiH.

During the General Assembly, the awarding of ANOC's annual awards to the best athletes and national Olympic committees for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics took place.

During the ANOK session, the reports of ANOK commissions such as the Athletes Commission, Culture and Education Commission, Gender Equality Commission, Marketing Commission, Anti-Doping Commission, Legal Commission, and International Relations Commission were presented. The Legal Committee presented the amendments to the Statute, which were adopted. The financial auditor's report was unanimously adopted.

    The IOC Olympic Solidarity report was also presented. The ANOC General Assembly ended with presentations on two special topics: sustainable development in sports and how to protect integrity in sports.
