The President of the BiH Olympic Committee, Marijan Kvesić, is the winner of the prestigious “European Laurels Award” given by the European Olympic Committee (EOC). The winner of this prestigious award was chosen by the EOC Executive Committee, and President Kvesić was nominated by the Presidency of the OC BiH and the Executive Committee of the OC BiH.

The award was given for outstanding merits in favor of sports promotion in their country, and contribution to the improvement of cooperation between European NOC's and is a great recognition to the current President of the BiH Olympic Committee, but also members of the Presidency of the BiH Olympic Committee, to the Executive Committee of the Olympic Committee of BiH, and to the entire Bosnian-Herzegovinian Olympic family.

President Kvesić stated that this is an award for his commitment to the Olympic Movement for 25 years in a row, but also recognition for many projects that the BiH Olympic Committee has successfully implemented with the aim of promoting Olympic values, friendship, respect, and excellence where athletes have always been in the first place.

The award ceremony took place during the 41st seminar of the European Olympic Committees in Samorin, Slovakia, on November 26, 2021.
