President of OCBIH prof.dr. Milanko Mučibabić 9th Dan judo

During the international judo camp held in Trebinje, the president of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prof. Dr. Milanko Mučibaić was promoted to the 9th DAN – Master's degree in judo, which makes him the holder of the highest title of this Olympic sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.

Prof. Dr. Mučibabić has been actively involved in judo for 57 years as an athlete and sports professional. On the way to the 9th Dan master title, he achieved exceptional success as a competitor, coach and sports professional. During the golden period of sports in the former Yugoslavia, he won European and world medals as a competitor and coach of the national team (in 1981, 1982, 1986), and the most decorated judo veteran of Bosnia and Herzegovina who won multiple European and World veteran championships (2010, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2019).

Alongside his successes in sports, he has made an exceptional contribution as a sports worker by holding a number of positions in state and sports institutions, as well as sports organizations. In addition to working in the line ministries responsible for sports, prof. Dr. Mučibabić was also the president of the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a member of the Executive Committee of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina during four mandates, and he currently holds the position of President of the OCBIH for the second time in his distinguished career. He actively participated in the unification of Bosnia and Herzegovina sports, so that all athletes from Bosnia and Herzegovina could equally participate and represent Bosnia and Herzegovina sports on an international level.

In addition to his sports career, the President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a doctorate in the field of sports sciences and is the author of numerous scientific papers and books in this field.

The title of master 9. Dan has been sent for verification to the International Judo Federation (IJF), which will be another international recognition both personally for the holder of this title and collectively for our sports community and Olympic sport.
