Press Conference of the Taekwondo Federation was held on the occasion of the organization of the upcoming G1 tournament in Zenica, which is planned to be held in October 2019.

In the premises of the Olympic Committee of BiH, on July 4, 2019, the Press Conference of the Taekwondo Federation was held on the occasion of the organization of the upcoming G1 tournament in Zenica, which is planned to be held in October 2019.

At the press conference, the present media were addressed by prof.dr. Izet Rađo, President of the Olympic Committee of BiH, Mr. Samir Šarić, President of the Taekwondo Federation of BiH, Nedžad Husić, Mr. Belmir Berberović and Mr. Kenan Uzunović.

President of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prof.dr. Izet Rađo opened the press conference emphasizing the importance of organizing this great tournament in Zenica, with special thanks to the Taekwondo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, the President of the BiH Olympic Committee emphasized that in many support programs for promising athletes, the BiH Olympic Committee recognized the possibilities of qualifying young taekwondoist Nedzad Husic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and therefore included Nedzad Husic among the users of the Way to Tokyo program.

The President of the Taekwondo Federation, Mr. Šarić, thanked the Olympic Committee of BiH for its support, with great pleasure in organizing the G1 tournament in Zenica, which will certainly promote the Taekwondo Federation of BiH in international waters. The possibility for BiH taekwondo athletes at the G1 tournament is especially pronounced, taking into account that due to the lack of financial resources, BiH athletes are limited in terms of participation in the same or similar competitions.

Of course, great hopes are placed in Nedžad Husić, who in his address to the media thanked for the support so far, with the promise that he will make every effort to justify that support in the best possible way.

Mr. Belmir Berberović, one of the five best judges in Europe and a potential candidate judge for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, also addressed the media, pointing out that Nedžad Husić can achieve his chance to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games at the G1 tournament in Zenica.

Finally, Mr. Kenan Uzunović, a representative of the City Administration of Zenica and a member of the organizing committee of G1 expressed great satisfaction that the city of Zenica will host the martial arts spectacle in October 2019, and the great commitment of the City Administration of Zenica that gave the Taekwondo Federation "Husejin Smajlović" Zenica, where the G1 tournament will be held.

This way, the Olympic Committee of BiH congratulates the Taekwondo Federation of BiH on the organization of the upcoming G1 tournament, and wishes good luck to the young Nedžad Husić in the qualifications for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
