PUBLIC CALL FOR THE SELECTION OF THE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR 2022 IN

The Olympic Committee of BiH traditionally organizes the "Sportsman of the Year " event, where the best results or best placements of Bosnian athletes, sports teams, and sports workers are publicly announced. This year, the selection will be made in 9 categories as follows:

  1. The best young female athlete in the junior category
  2. The best young male athlete in the junior category
  3. The most successful Sports Club
  4. The most successful national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina
  5. The most successful trainer
  6. Special awards of OC BiH
  1. For the promotion of sports and Olympic values
  2. Sports worker, for long-term contribution to the development of sports
  3. Sports promoters of Bosnia and Herzegovina
  4. Athlete or team from a family of non-Olympic sports
  5. Special award for an outstanding sports result
  6. Award for support in the work of OK BiH
  7. Award for media promotion of Olympic values
  8. For successful long-term coaching work
  9. Sports Ambassador

7. The best female athlete in the senior competition

8. The best male athlete in the senior competition

9. Sports person of the year

All BiH citizens have the right to participate in the event. Athletes, coaches, teams, and sports workers who belong to elective categories.

Please submit the proposals of your candidates no later than Thursday, November 17, 2022, by mail or in person to the premises of OC BiH. All proposals for nominations by category should be submitted by the specified date and on the letterhead of the association, with the seal of the association and the signature of the responsible person of the association, who guarantees the authenticity of the data with his signature and seal, otherwise the proposals will not be considered.

The conditions that the applicant must fulfill for the basic categories (except for special ones) are defined in Article 5 of the Rulebook on the selection of the athlete of the year organized by the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely:

  1. that he is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  2. that he is a member of a sports club from Bosnia and Herzegovina that is registered with the competent authority and that the club is a member of a professional association. (One sport can have only one professional association) or
  3. that he is a member of a sports club from another country, provided that the professional sports association from Bosnia and Herzegovina has given them permission to perform for the same.
  4. that he is not under suspension for doping.
  5. that the Application is accompanied by a Bulletin or Competition Report certified by the President or General Secretary of the professional sports association of which he is a member.
  6. that the application is filled out on a unique form created by the Commission, which will be submitted as an attachment to the tender.
  7. that it is an Olympic sport (except part of the Special Awards)
  8. professional associations can nominate one athlete and one athlete in one category with the two best results or placements for the specified year.
