STEPin employment fair successfully held in Ruma

Employment Fair, which was a part of the implementation of the project "Strengthening employment prospects in the sports sector for persons with disabilities - STEPin" and co-financed by the EU, was successfully held at the Ruma Cultural Center on July 27th 2022.

The employment fair in Ruma was organized by the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Novi Sad and the Taekwondo Club Zmaj in Ruma, with the presence of the project team of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Paralympic Committee of BiH.

The guest of the fair was academician prof. dr. Izet Rađo, vice-president of OCBIH, who emphasized: "In all parameters, the project was implemented very successfully. Through the project, we motivated and made the population aware that it can significantly be efficient and effective in the field of entrepreneurship. We are grateful to prof. dr. Patrik Drid and his team for the exceptionally high-quality cooperation. Using this tidal wave of our successful cooperation, we will continue to create project platforms with the aim of developing and promoting sports for people with disabilities."

The host of the employment fair, prof. dr. Patrik Drid, said: "Analyzing the research results, it can be concluded that there is room for improvement in each of the areas covered by the STEPin research. One gets the impression that most club representatives are not aware that they can provide services to people with disabilities. Most of them they see the disability, not the person. They don't rely on the strengths of the disabled person and what the person can do, but focus on weaknesses and limitations. Some have the quality to do more, but they don't."

Tomorrow we are expecting the Closing Conference in Ruma, which will officially end the STEPin project.
