Ten scholarships for young Olympic hopes of Bosnia and Herzegovina!

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to support the most promising athletes. In the past period, OC BiH worked intensively on finding the possibility of support programs for young promising athletes of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After procedural activities, and based on the proposals of the sports federations of BiH, the evaluation of the Commission for top sports OC BiH and the decision of the Presidency and the Executive Committee of OC BiH, ten athletes from a total of eight sports will receive scholarships for young Olympic hopefuls in the amount of 300 US dollars per month next year in a period of one year.

The Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a non-budgetary beneficiary and an Association that is not responsible for financing sports, is project-supporting young hopes and top athletes many times and strengthened the sports system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Beneficiaries of the scholarship for young Olympic hopefuls are:

  • Iman Avdić, swimming
  • Jovan Lekić, swimming
  • Emina Omanović, athletics
  • Marija Jokić, taekwondo
  • Nadina Mehmedović, taekwondo
  • Mustafa Hebib, judo
  • Ali Šljivo, boxing
  • Sara Plakalović, cross-country skiing
  • Milivoje Mačar, alpine skiing
  • Ermin Raščić, speed skating:

Olympic scholarships for young hopes are intended for the participation of athletes in training camps, and competitions as well as for their training process.

The signing of the scholarship agreement was attended by the heads of the BiH Olympic Committee, the president, and prof. dr. Milanko Mučibabić, vice-presidents, Dr. sci. Izet Rađo and Mr. Marijan Kvesić, as well as members of the Executive Committee of the OC BiH.

"This is another significant contribution of the BiH Olympic Committee to our best athletes. The significance of this project lies in the fact that we recognize young hopes, future top seniors, and certainly Olympians who will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at some of the upcoming editions of the Olympic Games. We sincerely hope that we will not be left alone in this support and recognition of young sports hopes," said Prof. dr. Mučibabić, president of OC BiH.
