The 2032 Olympics will host the Australian city of Brisbane

The first Olympic and Paralympic host in the next decade has just been chosen! The sport will take place on spectacular scenes in Brisbane, Gold and Sunny Beach. This will be the third time Australia has hosted the Olympic Games, building on the successes of Sydney 2000 and Melbourne 1956, and the first Olympic Games in Oceania in 32 years.

"What really delights Australians is the opportunity for our children, for sports and of course to show off our beautiful country. Fans can expect unsurpassed sporting experiences at 37 world-class venues, set against the backdrop of iconic coastal beaches, breathtaking rural hinterlands and exciting cities rich in culture and entertainment. Brisbane is a special place. It will host unforgettable and exciting Games and the world will be welcome.

"We thank the members of the International Olympic Committee for entrusting us with this great responsibility, " the IOC said in an official statement.

The dates of the Games are:

Olympic Games July 23 - August 8, 2032

Paralympic Games August 24 - September 5, 2032
