The 4th Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games have closed

The 4th Winter Youth Olympic Games “YOG Gangwon 2024” are closed today in the Gangneung Olympic Park. The Games brought together 1,802 athletes from 78 Olympic Committees who competed in 15 sports over the past two weeks. The closing ceremony started at 20:00 local time, ie at 12:00 in the Central European time zone.

At the closing ceremony, which is fully adapted to young athletes, the president of the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Thomas Bach, spoke and thanked everyone who contributed to the successful implementation of the Games. He especially thanked the young athletes for their hard work, dedication and demonstration of Olympic values during all the competition days.

The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina was carried by Boris Stanojević and Teodora Delipara, as the athletes with the best placement of those currently present at the Games.

We remind you that the BiH Team at "YOG Gangwon 2024" had 6 competitors in three sports: biathlon, alpine skiing and cross-country skiing, and the best results were achieved by representatives of alpine skiing, Ina Likić in the giant slalom (30th place) and Noah Miljković in the super giant slalom (31st place).

At the Youth Olympic Games, in addition to competition, the International Olympic Committee pays special attention to the education program through a series of fun and interactive activities, workshops and exercises, so that athletes have the opportunity to learn about Olympic values, explore other cultures, develop skills to become true ambassadors of their sport and improve their training methods and sports performance.

YOG Gangwon 2024 is a legacy of the successful realization of the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeong Chang in 2018 and aimed to continue the sports vision towards a new generation of young athletes under the slogan "Grow Together, Shine Forever".

We congratulate the young BiH athletes on their performances and wish them a lot of sporting luck in the continuation of their careers.
