As part of the "International Day of Sports for Development and Peace", President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach in a video message emphasized the unique role of sports and the Olympic Games in spreading global peace.

"Sport brings people together through peaceful competition," said President Bach, emphasizing the importance of sport as a driver of peace, intercultural understanding, and solidarity in today's society.

Bach also emphasized the importance of the focus of the IOC and the entire Olympic Movement on strengthening the role of sport in enabling contributions to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

"Because that is what our mission is: putting sport at the service of the peaceful development of humanity," concluded President Bach.

"International Day of Sport for Development and Peace" is an annual celebration of sport as a driver of social change and community development, therefore the NOC of BIH joins the IOC and the Olympic Family in a global message: Let's give peace a chance!
