XIX MEDITERRANEAN GAMES "ORAN 2022" ARE OFFICIALLY OPENED

In the Algerian city of Oran, the 19th Mediterranean Games were officially opened at the stadium in the suburbs of Oran, Bir El Jir. Oran will be the second city in Algeria to host the Mediterranean Games after the capital in which the competition was held in 1975.

The Games program consists of 292 disciplines within 29 sports.

The colors of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be defended by athletes from 11 sports: athletics, bocce, boxing, cycling, judo, gymnastics, karate, swimming, weightlifting, archery, and taekwondo.

The delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of a total of 70 members.

At the opening ceremony, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by athletes from bowling, boxing, cycling, judo, gymnastics, karate, and the President of OK BiH Prof. Dr. Milanko Mučibabić, Vice President of OK BiH Marijan Kvesić and Secretary-General of OK BiH and Head of Mission Dr. sci. Said Fazlagić.

The most trophy-winning judoka Larisa Cerić and boxer Džemal Bošnjak, the winner of the bronze medal from the Mediterranean Games Mersin 2013, had the privilege of carrying the flag at the Opening Ceremony.

Athletes from boxing, gymnastics, and karate will have their first performances at the Games. We wish these athletes as well as the entire BiH team a lot of luck and success on the battlefields.
